I did Jamil's saison and dry hopped with sorachi ace at 1/2 oz per gallon. I thought it was great.

Sorachi is an awesome hop, I like it so much I went and bought a rhizome last year. It lives up to the reputation of being lemony but I find that most when uses late and in dry hop. It can also have some herbal dill notes as well and some say almost "greasy" feel if used to much. I would not bitter with it as its just being wasted at that point. But Saison and hefe would be great styles for it

I guess they don't make it anymore, but New Belgium had a fantastic "Dig" ale. It was a perfect spring ale in my opinion. There should be an old clone thread on here. I've also had Sorachi Ace from Brooklyn Brewery. It was great.

I loved Sorachi Ace in an IPA I brewed last summer. It's definitely a love/hate hop so don't expect all your friends or BJCP judges to love it even if you think it's awesome. Tastes like dill.

I used it in a citrus pale ale I brew with lemon balm, it definitely helped to highlight the lemony flavors, but yes at the very finish it had a faint herbal/dill note. I didn't find it unpleasant, and my wife couldn't pick it up (and she loves the scent and flavor of dill in food), but something to bear in mind.

it definitely has some herbal flavors on the back end. Works with most saison yeasts though to round out the earthy character a bit

+1 using it in a saison. I haven't tried it in any other style, but the lemony flavour works really well with saison yeast's spicy/peppery characteristics. I made a version of the Bucket 7 clone but subbed the amarillo & simcoe with sorachi ace, and it turned out amazing
