Seriously, I'm only 33 and I am worried about our future. I know every generation has probably said that, but it has just gotten nuts.

Maybe in some areas this would be no big deal, but in little Helena MT this is just disgusting. Watch the video, the kid looks like he's 12

My wife and kids were out last night at a weekly town fesitval not far from here (nothing is far from anything in this town). I took the kids home and the wife went out with some girlfriends even closer to this area. I heard it on the news and spent an hour trying to get her to answer her damned cell phone. the kid was still on the run and they were advising people to say indoor and lock thier doors.

Kids will always fight, hell, grown adults will always fight...it's in our basic human nature. The trouble is that kids just don't fight fair these days. Back when I was in high school, the worse thing that would happen is that someone would get a nose broken and maybe a cracked rib. Now, kids who would ordinarily lose a fight and would rightly have avoided it, instead show up with weapons. So sad that the current generation doesn't value human life.

even more amazing that it tooks the cops 12 hours to find him, always the last place you look I guess.

I shouldn't be that way I guess, they did a good job trying to keep everybody safe.

Unbelievable. Kids have no fear or respect for authority anymore. Teachers are helpless and only so much schools are allowed to do anymore. Parents are worried the ex- will call child protective services if they punish the kids. Teachers are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. They get in trouble for loving the kids and they get in trouble for punishing them.
Gang bangers do the same thing. Used to be you might bring a knife or chains. Now it's a gun. I'm waiting to hear if the kids parent(s) will get in trouble for not having the gun locked up.

Anyways, they released some more info about the shooting, and about the kid. You always think its some punk drugged out gang banger or some loner or something. The kid worked at a local real food store, was an honor student, and spoke three languages. His friends are blaming it on drinking, saying he coulnd't handle his alcohol. It sounds like his friend that was involved with the fight about the girl told him the other guy was physically abusing the girl. He apparantly did not know the three he shot. insane.

In a nutshell: Rap "music," lack of discipline, drugs, glorification of the criminal "culture," and the general decline of western civilization. And likely he/they are pieces of flotsom from the shallow end of the gene pool. I'm sure there's more to most of it than just what I mentioned, but it's a start. That's my 2 cents worth. I know Im late to the conversation, but I haven't posted in a while.

I gotta agree with GN, here. People always say that the world is becoming increasingly violent. I have to disagree with this sentiment because I think its just that more violence is more accessible in the media, etc.

People have always fought and there have always been mentally unstable people committing thoughtless crimes, it just feels that they are becoming more morbid and have less regard for human life.

There are always going to be a few bad eggs out there. I imagine this stuff is rare in some places but it still happens. I think with the internet and the way news spreads, things like this also make it out to more national news sources. Seriously, it seems like we hear more about small town homicides across than we used to.

It sucks that people had to lose their lives. I wish the perp the best though.... I hope he has the best time in adult prison being Bubba's love pincushion.
