im trying to figure out what size fridge i need to find for my kegerator. I want to eventually have 3 or 4 kegs, plus my 5lb co2 tank in a freezer on top fridge. i went an looked at a 13 cubic foot fridge, but it measured 24 inches from the bottom to the top of usuable space inside the firdge, which would be pretty tight for the corney kegs. from what ive found, most fridges have a hump in the back of them usually in behind the drawers of the fridge.i guess ill end up putting plywood in to level out the hump. im guessing ill probably need about an 18 cubic foot fridge. Anyone care to share what size fridges they have? for a 3 or 4 keg setup?

is there a reason a chest freezer is out of the question? They are very convenient keg fridges once you add a temp controller.
a 10cu chest freezer would hold at least 4 kegs and the CO2, with room to spare.

I can just barely squeeze 3 kegs and 5lb CO2 into my 7.4cu Kenmore chest freezer.

mainly cost. i would have several hundred dollars tied up in a freezer after the conversion and such to be a fridge. Whereas i can find a regular refrigerator for about $0-$50 on craigslist

hmm after a bit of research, it might not be that expensive to convert a freezer. anyone have a good guide for this?

Mine fits 4 kegs and a 5 lb CO2 tank perfectly. It also has a hump in the back, and I built a shelf like you are talking about to square it off. Mine is also a $50 craigslist find...I'm not sure of the cubic feet but I'll check when I get home and update you.
