My buddy and I are just getting started in brewing. Currently just 5 gallon batches but we're looking to expanding, and I came across this tank and couldn't pass it up...

It's stainless and was previously used to hold water at a car-wash. I grabbed it with the intention to use it in our brewing, but I wasn't not sure in what capacity. I got it home and polished it measured it and realize I'm over my head. It's approx 80 gallons.

so now I'm stuck. I'm not sure that there's much I can do with that capacity.

I'm hoping someone here will have a good idea how I should use this tank in our brewing either modified or as is.

Please send me your ideas.

thanks,
C

Looks like both ends are closed. You could cut it in half and have a 40 gallon boil kettle and 40 gallon mash vessel or HLT. Or don't cut it dead center and pull out a 20 gallon boil kettle and 20 gallon HLT and scrap the middle section.

I'm thinking you should ship it to Ohio so I can use it for my Single Vessel brewing rig. ;)

I vote hold onto it if you have plans to grow that big, or sell it now and use the money to buy what you need.
