So many but off the top of my head are;

Tombstone (all time favorite)
Blues Brothers
Fifth Element
Austin Powers (all of them)
Die Hard (1)

based on the '87 Redskins, so +1000 for Revvy!

Tony Robinson -- the QB that relieved Ed Rubbert and beat Dallas in the 3rd game of the strike, was on work release from prison at the time and was the inspiration for the ex-con DB in The Replacements.

I didn't know any of that...COOL! Makes me like it even more.

:mug:

Band of Brothers. And since they always show it in marathons, once I see it's on, I'm done for the day.

Shawshank
O' Brother Wher Art Thou?
Dazed and Confused
Animal House
Goodfellas
The Blues Brothers
Rio Bravo
Oceans 11

Way to many to remember them all

Fargo. If I stumble upon this movie while channel surfing, I HAVE to watch it 'til the end.

The Paranormal Activity movies, I know, their a bit of a train wreck, but for some reason I dig em.

Definately Princess Bride, but there is also no way I could surf past The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, or The Magnificent Seven.

Some of them suck me in but I can't do it when they have to be edited for regular TV. Like Snatch: "Personified in this case, by an 'orrible runt, me." Or Scarface: "Where'd you get that beauty scar? Eating pineapple?" Or Casino: "Freak you, Sam Rothstein! Freak you!"

Can't do it.

JonM, considering you're avatar, I was surprised I didn't see:

"This is what happens when you FIND a stranger in the ALPS."

I get sucked into Lebowski, TV edit or not.

Yup.

CBC, during the NHL lockout of '04-'05, late Saturday night.

Also classic, "Get out of my peaceful cab!". Or, "Flip it. Let's go Bowling."

I started watching whilst Woo was micturating on the Dude's rug. Even with the editing, like i said, I get sucked in...I watched 'til the very end.

Lincoln just sucked me in big time! We finally sat down to watch it even though I've had it for awhile. Their depiction of the politics involved in the passing of the 13th and the end of the war was amazing.

Evidently the Harry Potter series pulls me in as well.

I've seen Deathly Hallows a few times now, never seen it through in one sitting though.

There are many flicks that I love, but if I had to choose just one, it would be

The Matrix.

The first one. All on its own, no sequels. When I first saw it in the theatre oh-so-many years ago, I was utterly blown away. I was entirely sucked in...

Surprised this thread got to 8 pages without mention of it (or did I miss it?). Am I the only one that completely loved that flick?

Aliens! Game over man! It is the reason I decided to work in the movie business. Still my fav after all these years. It has a nice slow burn like a cigar. Then once **** hits the fan, it doesn't let up. Great story, perfect sequel, great score, great actors, wonderful suspense, and top notch sound and editing. If you ever get to see it on the big screen, it's one of the loudest films ever made.

Speaking of Aliens. That is one sequel that surpassed the original. We were having a discussion at work trying to think of other sequels that were better than the original. Short list.

Idea! I'll make a thread on it. See what happens.

I had that version on the PVR until it crashed and we had to get a new one. It was great to be able to turn on the tv and get a 10 minute pick me up whenever I needed it. I've probably seen the scene where he drops the cherry in his lap while he's driving 200 times and I still laugh outloud when the car crashes.

Gotta say, I love the first one also. The other two pretty much sucked. For a philosophy class two years ago I was able to choose The Matrix for a movie assignment. It was even better watching it from that perspective.

I know it's because I mentioned it, but the Replacements is on the CW right now....and of course I am fully sucked into it. Missed the first 20 minutes, but it doesn't matter, I'm hooked.

Can't resist any of the LOTR movies, especially in marathon form. Many entire Sundays have disappeared thanks to LOTR and Band of Brothers marathons.

The Razors Edge (1984)
Grapes of Wrath
Of Mice and Men (All of them)
After Hours
Into The Night
Lebowski
Stuck On You... ridiculously absurd and silly, get sucked in every time...
