Has anyone looked into what homebrew shops are eligible for shop small saturday? It's an amex program where they (amex) give you $10 as a statement credit when you spend $10 or more at a small business that takes amex. You also need to pay with your amex.
In previous years I've used it to buy different things, and always gotten one credit per card used.
Here's the amex site that allows you to search for your shops. As far as I know if they show up on there then they are eligible. http://merchantgeo.force.com/CardMe...linknav=us-open-shopsmall-subnav-findsmallbiz
I'd like to reiterate that this isn't hurting the businesses. The money comes from amex, not them. The worst thing that you may end up doing it splitting your transactions into smaller amounts so you can use more than one card (if you have more than one amex)
I'll do some searching and post the name / city and state / url of the homebrew shops by me. It'd be pretty cool if everyone did this and we all were able to support out habit and local shops on Amex's dime!
UPDATE - this was $25 last year, and that amount was big enough for me to do some legwork. For $10 this year it is far less motivating.
