10-gallon batch
18 lbs California 2-row
2 lb Vienna
1.5 lb Crystal 20L
8 oz CaraMunich

1 oz Northern Brewer FWH
3 oz NB 10 minutes
4.5 oz Willamette flameout

WLP 810 San Francisco Lager yeast

OG 1054
FG (still fermenting, probably finish around 1016)
est. IBU 22
Color 7.2L according to BrewPal

I think the NB as FWH was a mistake, probably should have used twice as much or gone with a higher alpha hop - the IBUs look a little too low to me.

Anyway, with the WLP 810 I want to call this a California Common but it is way too pale and the hop flavor will be completely different. BrewPal says the closest match is to 3B, Oktoberfest/Marzen. Any other suggestions on what category this might be shoehorned into, if need arises?

That's my kinda recipe, who needs to follow the BJCP? I sure don't to make a good beer. Looks like a very hop aromatic Marzen. Lately I've been brewing beers that have main ingredients all from different places ie, English malt, American hops, and German yeast etc.
