I just opened up my primary on a basic stout to take a hydro reading and this is what it looked like.

I would like to assume this is the yeast but it's been sitting in the primary for twelve days. Usually when I pop open the primary after this long there are only a very few small colonies floating around. Beersmith indicates that the final gravity should be around 1.010 and the hydro is reading 1.011 right now. Just haven't seen this before.

I used an ale yeast, 1084. I hit all my mash temps and numbers and it tastes fine. I'm guessing it's just not done fermenting, but since the s.g. is so close I am a bit curious.

Let it sit another week, then take a pic and post it. (Bet it looks nothing like it does now.....) ;)

Kinda what I figured. I've just never had this much after this long. I was planning on going at least another week until the secondary.
