What is that stench?

For the past 2 days I've been smelling this GAWD-AWFUL stench when I've been laying in bed. My wife doesn't smell it at all. To me, it is like cat piss times 10. Just a nose burning odor that has me smelling my pillows, the sheets, the floor, you name it. I can't figure it out for the life of me. I'm blaming the cat, and the dog who sleeps under the bed every night. WTF is it?

Tonight I figured out what it is.

drumroll....

A 1 week old sample of Lake Walk Pale Ale that was hiding on the nightstand. The glass had maybe 2 ounces in it, and a green film that could gag a goat. And it reaks. Cheese and rice does it reak!!!!!!!!!

Well, the reason I didn't see the glass was because I usually have a cup next to the bed to spit sunflower seed shells into. I "assumed" that the cup was that, and it never occured to me that the glass actually had liquid in it.

Seriously, don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I do it too. It's seems like a waste to pour down the drain a partial glass of beer at bed time. I have left them on the nightstand for a couple of days. Yes, they do start stinkin'. Never had one with the smell of death all around you, though... lol

Just blame it on SWMBO.... ain't it the ladies job to be sure all the empty beer glasses are washed and put away?

I left a hydrometer sample tube out the other day with wort in it to see if it would spontaneously ferment and create some sort of Chez Baron lambic, but it just turned moldy.

The beer in the shower might be the greatest thing ever...perfect for when you're on vacation and can't allow something as insignificant as personal hygiene to cut into your drinking time.

Yeah, you've just got to make sure you don't get any shower water in your beer. It's also a nice way to preload your alcohol before a party.
