What if I took yeast and mixed it with coke?

You'd get a nasty tasting mess that would not be worth drinking. All the sweetness would be gone and there would be no balance.
 
Dude made a DewBrew that apparently is really, REALLY nasty.

My first thought on reading the title of the thread, though, was that this was a varient on the "Anyone Make Marijuana Beer?" thread...

Or one hell of a yeast starter. Can you imagine how fast they'd be fermenting?
 
I've had diet Coke where the aspartame broke down. I'd expect fermented Coke to be as bad or worst.

Rum comes from molasses, not high-fructose corn syrup.

Yeast can survive a surprisingly low pH, but there are some phosphates and stuff in Coke that might kill 'em off. Regardless, I don't think I'll be trying the Coke wine experiment.
