Made a starter for my RIS That I am brewing on Sunday. 2nd generation of wyeast 1084 London ale

Up early to brew the Mosaic/Southern Passion IPA, waiting on the mash now. Later I'll keg up the WF lager I brewed two weeks ago to make room in the ferment fridge, and tomorrow will hit up a new acquaintance's garage sale; he's getting out of brewing, and has already promised me SIX corny kegs (dunno yet if pin or ball lock) at $10 each, and might have some other stuff I "need". That will take my total of usable kegs up to 11; one of mine has a slight warp in the opening and doesn't seal right. Can you say lagering keg, boys and girls?

Brewed a batch of Zombie Dust clone, pitched on third use 1056 cake and it's already bubbling away an hour later. Also, kegged the APA that was in that fermenter earlier.

Put my gear away after boiling up another American Amber ale... this time, both cans of liquid extract were good.

Unfortunately, I dropped one and lost half the can to the concrete patio. So it'll be a bit lighter than I planned, but I will not make the mistake of going 1/3 sugar again.

I liked the profile of the San Francisco-style lager-ale yeast, so I'm using the White Labs WLP810 version with traditional hallertau/saaz mix. Crossing my fingers... I've got good yeast activity already and the airlock smells pretty good.

Sitting here with coffee pondering on water chemistry for next weekend's brewday. Efficiency has been cr*p all winter long, and I think this might be part of the problem. Nothing of my process has changed for quite some time, and the last batch I did that was even close to 75% efficiency was back in November. Read up on water adjustments last night until my head was spinning, but it's starting to make some sense. Part of the issue was my cheapo pH meter futzed out, and I never replaced it because lazy and didn't think I needed it. Well, I do now! Tired of wasting too much grain to get close to 6.5% ABV, which is my usual target.

^^^ $10 kegs, you cannot beat that!
Also cannot beat the 20lb co2 tank he threw in for another $10, serious score there! I only got three of the kegs, as the other were pinlocks and kinda messed up, and I didn't want to mess with them. But the three I got are in decent shape, just need some TLC and new o-rings, will be good to go.

Today, I kegged my five gallon share of Barrel Aged Maple BarleywIne (BAMBI) from my club's barrel project sub-group. It's currently cask conditioning with a primer of Grade A Robust/Dark maple syrup... even though it didn't need any more maple flavor. :ban: There's something to be said about splitting the cost of a 55 gallon barrel across several brewers and doing collaborations... this is my second batch of beer in the club barrel project, and I could never afford such things as a single brewer.

I also took 5 gallons of my 10A Weissbier and put it into kegs... then turned around and added 3lbs of blueberries to the second 5 gallons of the batch.

Bought a 20m self-retracting garden hose reel to the garage (will help a lot with brewing too), put a sink full of bottles to soak in clorine solution beating myself if I ever learn to rinse after each pour... Got a zillion dirty empties all around the garage again but trying to both clean up the garage and get back into brewing now that the motorbike is finished and ready for the season.

Late last week I dug up my Centennial hops and replaced them with Comets from Great Lakes Hops. The Centennials never got above 6ft tall and only produced a few cones each year.
A good friend from my home brew club asked if he could have the Centennials I was going to dig up. I said sure. He picked them up tonight and left these IPAs on my doorstep as a thank you. Not needed but very much appreciated!!
Anyhow, what I did today was gave away 3-4 year Centennial plants (3) to a fellow home brewer and good friend!

Last night I threw my last pouch of OYL 605 lacto into my Sour Pineapple Shake FV, I'll give it a few days to sour then add pineapple puree.
