Was that a partigyle? Or (more likely) two separate mashes? Looks awesome...Brewed an Irish Stout and a German altbierView attachment 615804
Actually two different mashes! Congrats on the pale ale I'm sure it will be great! The German altbier was 1.056 Irish stout 1.048Was that a partigyle? Or (more likely) two separate mashes? Looks awesome...
Pitched my yeast into 5.25 gallons of pale ale this morning. OG was 1.058, and I hope to get to 1.010-12.
That's the beauty of repitching yeast!Brewed a partial mash honey nut brown ale, repitching my Nottingham yeast from the Irish red I bottled over the weekend. Bubbling away and krausen thinly forming within 4 hours.
I've got one of their 5 gal ones myself!View attachment 616867 Yesterday I waxed the wooden cask I had prepared (the Angels share was a bit too large) later today I'll sanitize it again, check for leaks then fill it.
It smelled great when I was preparing it, and that process seemed to wash most of the color and aroma away... So today I’m likely to top it off with some bourbon.I've got one of their 5 gal ones myself!
Awesome!! I moved during the fall and didn't care for my barrel like I should so now it has a pretty decent leak under one of the rungs. I got some paraffin wax and plann to rub it all over and hopefully seal it back up.It smelled great when I was preparing it, and that process seemed to wash most of the color and aroma away...
