Finally got around to cutting the top off my keg to make a HLT! Look out world...I'm moving up to two vessels! Not bad for freehand.

gelled a BCS American Pale Ale. Cold crash for a few more days then bottle half and keg half.

planned for a 10G Pliny clone brew day this weekend. Good Jesus that's a lot of hops. It was a tremendous beer last year - should be great again for a December hop bomb.

Rescued this poor little fella from the scrap yard, it appears someone went all drunk redneck on it. Gonna make an awesome bottom drain MLT.

Finally wrote a recipe for the nearly-extinct German Mumme as done by a British fella in January 2010 in the post I started last April.

I bought a 4 gallon water container with a spigot to experiment with ghetto casking. It should work, in theory.

I did a trial boil run with my new all grain equipment and then ran and got my water and ice for the brew weekend. And now I'm waiting for this wort to boil so I can work up my very first starter, and then i will be christening my Diy stir plate. All in prep for my first all grain attempt with the first recipe I've ever created myself. whew... so many firsts in one night... bowl a cherries and whatnot .... :rocking:

I took an extended lunch to go pick up a load of 2-row for a SMASH. Also grabbed one of those new White Labs PurePitch WLP001s.... Yeah, still making a starter...

Started ordering ingredients for the Mumme', & boy was that fun finding a site with secure payment! Let alone one that had that AND everything I need...:drunk:

Labeled a session wit with my daughter, and calibrated my carboyView attachment 312809View attachment 312810

Loved the Bumbo seat with my kids...be forewarned though...they will learn (suddenly) one day how to get out of it! Don't ask me how I know...but I will say it involved a near miss from an elevated position... (In my best Keanu Reeves voice: "Close one!")

Punched a couple of holes and sweated fittings in for the Herms coil. Woulda gotten it installed and maybe tested if one of the compression fittings hadn't seized.

Kegged off 5g of an APA while I was brewing yesterday. Will bottle the other 5g today.
Started making a yeast starter of sorts for bottling an Imperial Stout tomorrow.
