Fermentor or Fermenter?

I am under the impression that a fermenter is a simple sugar that yeast ferments, and a fermentor is a vessel for fermentation.

What do you say?

Cheers,

I say that fermenter is a vessel in which fermentation occurs in, and fermentor is a misspelling of fermenter.

fermenter = yeast - they do the work

fermentor = vessel that fermentation takes place in

per Chris White and Jamil Z in Yeast

Based on several dictionaries,

Fermenter is both the vessel and the organism, and fermentor is a misspelling.
