So my kegs of California Common and Apfelwein both kicked within the last couple of weeks, and today was the first day I had available to clean the kegs. I am fairly new to kegging, so I wanted to see how much was left below the liquid tube that I was missing. I took out a pitcher, opened the keg lid, and poured out the Common. Then I transferred to a pint glass and found that I had about a pint. Holding it up to the light it was obviously pretty yeasty.
What to do? I took a sip, then put it in the fridge to let the yeast settle out. I repeated with the Apefelwein, but as expected there was no visible yeast, as I racked off the lees. Mmmmm. Breakfast.
