Oh, and my corned brisket that will become Katz's pastrami has cured for 7 days and is now rinsed and soaking in clean water to desalinate before I coat it with the rub prior to smoking!

That sounds delicious! I need to get a smoker...

Yum!

Had pork stock simmering for a couple days, straining it off, so much easier than chicken as the dog gets the scraps, the bulk of which will be made into spit pea soup.
Total diversion from my normal method of making pea soup which is throw everything in then pull the bones but I think it will be delicious any way;)

I love soup:D

Dang, man, that must take a LOT of spit! Oh wait - is it DOG spit? They can be pretty drooly.... :p

Sorry, I couldn't resist! Yes, I am a spelling/proofreading freak. Sue me too. :)

I used all my about to rot leftovers in a grilled wrap.

Bacon
1/2 Chicken breast
spinach
medium salsa
green onions (only the bases were still viable)
Some shredded Mexi blend cheese

Amazing! I love making trashcan anything. I hate wasting food. I also like experimenting with the lack of a cohesive style...much like I do with brewing. I design a beer with ingredients that sound good together then assign it a style.

I love french onion soup (I love onions!). In france (somewhere near Bordeaux, it was served with the croutons, cheese, and a mild mustard on the side and you topped your own.

Well, since I didn't cook it, I didn't take photos, but my mother in-law makes french onion soup for the trip to the beach every year at Thanksgiving. Had it last night and it was awesome. Hard to resist eating it right out of the oven and burn your mouth. A little fine chopped raw onion in the bottom of each bowl, baguette crouton with mixture of swiss cheese and shredded parmesan, topped with the soup and caramelized onions. Baked at 400F until crouton (floats to the top) and the cheese get browned and bubbly. Mmm MMM!!!

I did do a quick leftovers bowl in the microwave. It was surprisingly good...cheese just didn't brown.

Too funny.
I put up my pictures before going back to see what else people did. Your soup looks great, Staestc.

I don't use wine in mine, I actually use about a cup of apple cider with the beef stock. That and some Worcestershire sauce and some old fashioned bitters.

I stashed 2 boxes of the cheddar bay biscuit mixes & a cup of shredded cheddar for Thanksgiving. Thought they'd go well with that & home brew...

Pro tip, it's just baking mix, milk and some old bay seasoning. Brush with butter, garlic and parsley when they come out.

Also, on Saturday I was pretty tired and didn't feel like doing much. Whenever I grill steaks, I'll typically grill two extras for wraps, salads, etc.

So, I just churched up some jarred Alfredo sauce with peppers and onions fried in bacon grease, added steak and deglazed with a splash of white wine, added spinach and vegetable penne. Good stuff, took a whopping 20 minutes.

After all those cool dishes I'm going to seem downright boring with my Chili/Cheese dip and Chicken Corn Chowder (Wife's request).

Still haven't found time to cook that tongue. I want to boil it when the family is not around. They've been around.

Incredible. Michelin star stuff. Plating! All about the plating. Love it.

Truthfully, I enjoy sitting down to a nicely plated meal more than one that isn't. Just adds a little something extra.

Wife thinks it's funny, but I do make an effort in plating most of our dinners. She'd miss it if I didn't, I'm sure.

Yeah, I am always judging my plating and disappointed when I end up with one of those all tan meals....

I had to cook the tongue from the last cow I bought while my wife was out of the house lol. I made lingua tacos from the meat. They were pretty tasty but my wife still wouldnt try them.
