Could anyone please tell me if i made a beer kit could i put my finished beer in plastic pet pop bottles and then prime it. they would be 500ml size.:)

well you could put it in plastic PET bottles, but you might as well just put it in real beer bottles

You can probably drink 2 cases of your favorite craft beer while your beer is fermenting, real bottles are pretty easy to come by.

Yes. There are more than a few people out there that use PET soda bottles for storing beer.

Some considerations:

Probably not the best thing for beers that you will be storing for long periods due to oxygen permeability issues.

You'll have to be careful to keep the beers out of light to avoid skunking.

Are you planning on priming in the bottle? I'm not saying not to, in fact I've spoke with a number of people who like using the Cooper's drops for priming because it is a measured amount per bottle. I'm just curious, and I'd like to hear how it works for you if you do something similar.

I think he wants to do what im looking to do.

I want to bottle my brew in 2 liter bottles to give away. I think this is what he is talking about. I understand the issues surrounding it but the beer that will be inside wont last very long and will be out of the light. I dont mean to thread steal (but I guess I will;) ) but how much priming sugar should you add to bottle in pop bottles?

You can buy brown PET bottles from your LHBS which will avoid the problems with exposure to light but for the price you might as well just buy beer and use the bottles. You'll still have the problem that PET is permiable to air.

Don't wash PET bottles with boiling or very hot water or they'll end up all out of shape.

You'll get much more consistent priming and no chance of no priming or double priming if you use a bottling bucket.
