The IPA freebie, same brewery. These guys are located right off the downtown lake trail. Nice beer and location for a waterhole.

When you missed that @pianoman changed his name and you see someone posting pictures in his Nebraska pint glass….

Those are killer looking draught offerings? Is this at Armsby Abbey? One I wasn't expecting to see if the BBC Dryman's Porter. When I lived in western MA over ~23yrs ago, BBC was a local fav. Loved the drayman's porter as well as the steel rail pale ale.
Yup. Armsby. One of the reasons I chose to play that course down the road. Hill Farmstead is one of my fav breweries. Sometimes it's hard to try anything else. I froze as I looked at the menu and they have growler fills of HF 😱

OT: fruitiness from @pshankstar

HB oat stout. I only have about a dozen bottles of various homebrew left. I tentatively have a brew day scheduled in two weeks(first since start of august and the first in the new dedicated brew room) and desperately need to get the pipeline flowing. Hoping to do my first kegging on that batch! Honestly debating buying a 5g extract kit shortly after that just to get beers in the fridge.

Fidens collab with Scott Janish of Sapwood Cellars - 3S4MP .They brewer this beer trying to elevate and enhance Thiol availability. It was mash hopping with calypso, fermented with the new cosmic punch yeast and dryhoped with Nelson, Nelson Hop oils, calypso & phantasm (grape skin product high in Thiol). The beer is absurdly stonefruit forward.

From my limited experiences with cosmic punch, if paired with the right hops it has always been super stone and passion fruity. But cosmic punch was engineered for this purpose to free up any bound thiols from the hops and/or grains. This beer looks great but is it too fruity and perhaps too sweet?

No it’s actually quite dry and maybe a touch too bitter/hop burn, but other than that it’s fine. I’m sure in a week or so I’ll get a real feel for it
