Sycamore has a reputation in the Charlotte area of being the “basic white girl and frat boy” brewery, but this is their flagship beer that you can find on most wal mart shelves in the area. It’s a great example of a modern West Coast IPA that is bitter and juicy with a smallish malt presence. I wish I had an idea of the ingredients to work on a clone when I get the brewery fired back up.

Been on a WCIPA kick lately trying different combos and I like to brew lighter WC IPA (and PA). Don’t know why, but I like my hoppy HB’s to be as light as I can. Odd, I know.First shot at brewing a West Coast Pale Ale. Very happy with the turnout. A little light on color, but damn, it's tasty. White Labs 001
I have to say, if I couldn't see the color while drinking it, I don't think I could tell it is as light as it actually is. Solid malt backbone. Maybe a touch of crystal malt would help, but I also don't want to mess with a good recipe and make it worse!

Yep. I got that glass in an order from Atlantic Brew Supply one time. I was actually through Raleigh a few weeks ago but was just driving through and wasn’t able to stop anywhere.

A few more before bed
I'm drinking an Australian sparkling ale HB from @ajbosley2015. This is actually my first time having this style. It's pretty refreshing and semi malty.
HB tropical stout with toasted and untoasted coconut flakes, vanilla bean, and cacao nibs. I did It 2 oz Whirlpool with zamba hops. It has strong coconut flavor and also that's like pineapple and tropical fruits.
Very nice color. What yeast did you use?
That red looks delicious and a Raspberry Sour sounds awesome as well.
I used Safale K-97. First time using that one. Grabbed a homebrew since I had to go to the basement to see what I used for the recipe. I think it's the law.

Pretty good. sweet and didn't know apricots could carry such as strong presence.
A commercial Hefe on the left, my HB Weissbier on the right. Mine has a lot more flavor.
