I forget which member's oatmeal stout I had, but that changed my interest in style of stouts I brew. I think I'll stick with oatmeal stouts going forward.

Enjoying this while I organize some of our digital photos and videos so my wife can make photo albums of our kids.
Enjoyed various stouts and sours from some local breweries earlier today while the SUV was in for the state inspection, oil change and tire rotation.

Ensconced in a down-at-the-heels Super 8 in Great Falls, MT. Caught a ride with some friends who have medical appointments here so I could help my wife with her ailing, 87 YO aunt. We’re trying to get her into some form of assisted living or convalescent care for a few weeks until she heals up from her injuries. The aunt’s tiny house doesn’t have room for all 3 of us so I’m camped out a few blocks away. The c-store down the street has a decent beer selection so I have at least some of the comforts of home.

Gotcha. On a related note, I still owe you some bottles of my PB Porter. I haven't been able to brew in a while since my dumb a** tapped my brew kettle with my car. I finally got the system replaced and should be able to make it soon. I'll keep ya posted!

One more thing. Buddy at work got Covid. When he came back to talk about it, said it was mild. When talking to the doctor about it doc said it was probably because he was a smoker. The virus attaches to the same cells as nicotine from cigarettes so kinda like a layer of protection. Don't stay TOO healthy my friends!

There was a ballot issue here in Colorado last November that passed to raise taxes on tobacco AND all other nicotine products and accessories in increments over the next 7 years. The small C-store the company I work for owns is at $9.25/pack for Marlboro reds now. I don’t smoke and quit Skoal 22 years ago, but I think that’d be a good incentive to quit. Hope she’s successful.

HB oat stout. First bottle of the batch. I added vanilla, clove, and cinnamon to the fermenter. I could have been a little heavier handed but so glad to have something dark on hand again
