Kidding? I sip it to make sure it isn't tooth-rotting sweet. After that, I'm out. The only flavors I can identify are sweet/sour/bitter/spicy. Those are flavors right?

No, those are tastes. You are missing: fat, umami and salty.

Except spicy, that is a flavor. The heat in your mouth is not a taste but actually pain from the capsaicin.

So do the trucks up north come with insulted doors? That would suck driving around in all that snow with a flimsy sheet metal door to protect you. I don't think I've ever seen a truck with its door closed down here.

OT. Moved into water. Only 9 more hrs to go. Flocc!!

Nope. Same trucks.

I don't think I've ever seen a truck with its door closed down here.

I had the most rural route at our FedEx location. Instead of the big trucks that everyone else had, I used a bit smaller box truck. Anything bigger simply would've been impossible on that route. Even then, there were still those half mile long driveways through the woods that you could not even consider driving down. I don't miss peak.

Ha. This is how I picture it.

It's fog that freezes to stuff that's cold. Like trees, fences, power lines, signs, grass, etc. Makes anything already slippery about 100x worse.

Also the density can change in a matter of a tenth of a mile from 1 mile-ish visibility to "I can't see past the bumper".

Makes life interesting and everything looks beautiful.

I always thought it was not that bad until I had to drive through some. Rather have to drive in near blizzard conditions.

What the... How do you forget to flush the cleaner out???

Yes. Plus I can tell from the license plate on the front.

Our old shop location was down the street from one of the facilities, when the trucks headed out in the morning we knew he was trying to sneak in late.

OT 1 cup of coffee then water before DR appointment.

Ha. This is how I picture it.

Pretty damn close. I learned the hard way that even if there was only a foot or two of snow, you run up the damn driveway no matter how long it was. Too many times I was due to get home by 2pm, got stuck on the last stop and ended up home around 10pm. Gross.

Office coffee (x3) tired of officing in the office.

BTW, @thatjonguy ... Hydra is opening their tap room on Friday, I'm assuming you'll come stand in line with me?

Death Breath
Double India Pale Ale
Aged: 12 weeks - ABV: 6.4% - Plato: 18.75 - IBU: 88

Malts: 2 Row Pale, Caramel, Carapils, Munich, Pale, Victory
Hops: Chinook, Fuggles, Northern Brewer, Willamette
Availability: 12oz bottles & Draft

Lawwwwwl. I don't even know how they get off calling it a double IPA... 6.4%. I saw the event show up on my facebook feed and was so close to asking if they brewed some good beer for the opening.

I love that stuff, and it certainly creeps up on you real quickly. Gotta bottle up some almost year old apfelwein in time for the holidays.

I've got about half a keg of the stuff. It's really great at this stage. I've forgotten how old it is. Maybe a year in the keg? Not sure.

I don't even know how they get off calling it a double IPA... 6.4%.

Looks like a kitchen sink brew.

It's just ridiculous.

1. Don't call your beer what it isn't. Just ticks me off... 1.1% abv more and they could get away with it, IF it had any hop aroma/flavor at all.

2. Look at those stupid hops. Good god. I mean, maybe if they did late additions and dry-hopped the crap out of it with Chinook, it might improve it. I dunno.

3. Aged 12 weeks????? WHAAAAA? 6.4%, no reason for it. I don't even understand.

Looks sweet too. 19 plato and only 6.4%

Not seeing how four hops including Fuggle make their way into an IPA. Isn't it going to be like their malt bill. Like mixing all the playdough. Brown town.

I don't IPA much but this looks no bueno.

Its amazing how fast trucks sink in mud with those skinny 225 and 245 tires.
I swear all our guys at work have found out that a tow truck can not go anywhere.

OT Water

English ESB maybe???

Yeah... it's just embarrassing that this **** is coming out of Sioux Falls. I could brew circles around these noobs.

No, it's contract brewed?

And it smells like Death Breath indeed.

I will stand in line with you just to pour it on the floor and tell them it tastes like ****.

Only a complete moron would age a DIPA for 12 weeks and then sell it.

Maybe it's beechwood aged!

OT water in the DR office. Typical they are running late already.

I know it's contract brewed... that's not really a huge factor if your recipe sucks, is it? I've also seen pics of the brewers up there "overseeing" the process.

Either way, they're operating the business out of Sioux Falls, so... to me, it's 'coming out of Sioux Falls.' It's got our name on it and they are sucking.

Water and rage.

I was just checking to see if it was still contracted.

I'm as mad as you are.

Seems like a lot of those are popping up and somehow they survive.

it's a double india pale session ale... you know... IPA strength but more hop!

Random question does anybody know where to get a 7 gallon or 14 gallon fermenter? Or possibly a brite tanks? Preferably used. A buddy of mine is working through starting up a brewery in my local town and he's looking for used equipment. It's a longshot I know but I figured I'd ask
