Hop diggity after giving up on making cigars tonight. Only got two wrapped and got pissed at how they turned out so will come back fresh tomorrow.

Coffee contemplating early beers. Iced trees down every where and power is spotty. As long as I have power for football tonight we should be good.

Coffee with banana pancakes. Told my wife I wanted to go get brewing ingredients and she basically told me that's what I'm getting for Xmas and not to go. I don't understand the problem.

I just bottled a Scotch ale this morning and I'm drinking the stuff that didn't fit in the bottles.

17lb 2 row
1 lb roasted barley
og 1.095
Fg 1.010
ABV 11.16%

The weird thing is it tastes a lot like my RIS I bottled in Aug.

17 lb 2 row
1.5 lb roasted barley
1 lb Crystal 120
1 lb oven roasted dark Crystal
1 lb oats
Og 1.090
ABV 10.5

Maybe I'm drunk, but I'm not sure why they're so Simalar.
Different yeast and different hops too.

All that roast will do it. Scotch ales are more toffee/melanoidin than roast.

Roast in large quantities will over power any small yeast or hop character added by the hops.
