This. I think the burnt the candi sugar during the boil. I'm being serious, are roasted notes part of a flavor profile of a dubbel? That hasent been my experience.

Not in a good dubbel, but I usually don't expect much from New Belgium. If they used real candi sugar or syrup it's really easy to scortch on a big system like that.

My boss and I always send eachother off for vacation with "I hope it rains every day!"
