Water with my 90 calorie lunch. Lesson learned after getting all my brewing gear ready and forgetting to go grocery shopping.

Hahah...I just wanted to toss the bomb out there and leave the room...

I just don't get the people that say something is bad just because they personally don't like it. And anyone that does like it must be faking it.
Are there some who pretend to like something just because it has a lot of hype? Sure. But, that's usually the exception, not the rule.

Also, isn't gose an historic style? I thought it was brewed a long time ago in Germany, not just invented last year by hipsters...

That's why I sent you doubles - to give you a chance to at least have one. Did you get much at all?

Coffee. Had a rough end to the day yesterday when I found out my uncle passed away and had to break the news to my mother (it was her brother) and siblings. Staying home to try to sort out the when we need to head out for the funeral. He's been battling cancer so it wasn't a huge shock, but it still hits hard.

Sorry to hear that Mark, condolences to you and yours

It is an old style that basically brought back from the dead. Its nothing new. Did Remmy's pic of my Gose spark this conversation? :D I love that beer and going to brew 2.0 maybe this sunday.

No, I'll brew 5 beers before you brew 2.0. Which will technically be v3.0 after I brew v2.0. :D

And, no. I don't want a Westbrook. I want your recipe. So I have 5 gallons of it and can fill growlers to take with me to the lake. Seriously. Don't stiff me.

Yep, old style. Nothing new. The "author" (I use that term loosely) of that article is arguing the point that it wasn't worth bringing back and thus, craft brewers have obviously run out of styles and creativity. The guy is an idiot and most likely wrote the article to spark controversy. Or he just really thinks gose tastes like sweat. Either way....idiot.

Way to go, you killed craft beer. Thanks a lot.

;)

Hey. There will be less competition so I'll have more customers.

I think these Anti-Craft articles is just someone that is butt hurt. Seems really opinionated and has absolutely no evidence that it is. I love a Gose. Not overly salty though. I believe that mine is on point and a local brewery has plans to brew it. Hopefully they let me know if they are and not brew it already.

Well sweat is salty...

Depends what gose he tried. Some people are more sensitive to salt than others. I do no like a lot of salt and never add any to food because there is already a **** load in there

Who reads this crap? I got through about 4 sentences and quit reading. The guy is a moron.

I read that a few days ago and thought I was a cheap grab for mouse clicks. Just the way it's written seems as though the author wants to piss someone off.

There's another article on that site that is the top ten American beers that beer writers love. I find it interesting that Heady is #25 and Pliny is not even on the list. Blind Pig is. That site just wants mouse clicks and the "journalism" is extremely unprofessional.

Drinking water and living vicariously through Remmy. I brew with that same pitcher. Cheers man.

I will admit my first taste of a Gose was shocking and I wasnt sure if it was for me. Much like my first taste of light beer back when I was just starting to drink beer.

The next time I tried one and knew what to expect I liked it much more. Not my favorite style, but it definitely didnt kill craft beer as a whole. Does this mean that the author is going to stop drinking craft beer and go back to BMC? have they given up on all styles now that craft beer is dead?

Water. My voice is coming back. Though it sounds like my vocal cords are made of rubber bands.

I can see that lol. I'm planning to brew 3 beers sunday. The gose 2.0, a stout (nitro), and maybe a IPA or pale stout.

If you want the recipe I can send it to you if you like to brew it. Though it takes a couple of days to make.

This crap only makes sense if you ARE a Brooklynn hipster. At least that seems to be his target audience.

So, you don't like gose anymore because it's too "mainstream" now? Well, I didn't like gose BEFORE it was popular.

Have you been to Brooklyn before? I've been to the PNW before and more hipster than BK is - both the craft beer culture as well as every day life in general.

I'd still rather live there than in BK. :D

When I took my first sip of Westbrook Gose, I didn't think it would be for me. Then I drank Troublesome from Off Color and really enjoyed it. Tasted another Westbrook and found it refreshing. I was sent a homebrewed Gose and found it delicious as well. I may need to brew a Gose for the summer.
