I have had the same problem with brewers friend. Eventually you get your system down and don't need the calculators.

It'll never gain popularity as a televised sport in the US because the rules of play aren't conducive to advertisements, hence it's not as profitable as other sports to broadcast, and many people are only interested in what is handed to them. Yet a very large portion of American children play it at some point during youth, so it's not that people don't "get" it.

And yes, it has seasons just like every other sport.
