Another apflewine in the snifter. Hope I don't regret this tomorrow...feel 7' tall and handsome right now.

I had the first American Pale Ale I ever drank today. Now that I'm rounding the corner of 6 of them, I'm starting to appreciate the subtleties of this fine beverage. :tank:

That would be a good Welcome to Florida card

I've been going down to the Saint Lucie area in late March for several years. I have discovered I have a condition known as polymorphic light eruption. So weird. It looks like poison ivy. I get it every year in the spring, only if I go to Florida. Apparently, my skin is so used to no sun exposure that my week in Florida throws it into a complete **** fest. It's itchy, it's ugly...but I've read that it's harmless and no indication of cancer, so I do it to myself every year. Will be doing it again in five weeks.

If not for family connections, I'd move to Florida tomorrow.

I like it, the summers get a bit long (9 months or so), the humidity is always present, tons of tourists, and the occasional hurricane aside, you do get cheap property, no state taxes, you are never more than an hour from the ocean, lakes are everywhere, so are rivers, no shoveling snow and you can wear flip flops year round.

Yeah. Art of Animation. I would recommend it for sure. It's a "Value" level resort, but we are in a suite w three beds, two baths and two tv's for much less than the standard 2x queen rooms we have had in years past in Port Orleans and Carribbean Beach (both "Moderate" level). And the rooms are accessed from inside the buildings.

Assuming you can deal w the "tacky factor"

Thanks for info. I think 2 baths is key. We were also looking at renting a disney vacation property, but they are crazy expensive.

Heading to the neighbors for a party after this.

1. summer never gets old.
2. humidity? ever been to Michigan in the summer?
3. no state taxes? you are delusional.
4. ocean = cool
5. what you folk call lakes, we call ponds.
6. snow shoveling...I'm all on board with your plan.
7. Flip flops...not in this lifetime.

*no state income tax, we do pay between 6-8% sales tax. No tax on groceries, medicine and unprepared foods

Taxes are my area of specialty. I deal with Florida all the time. By my estimation, the average Florida resident pays more taxes than the average Michigan resident, despite our 4.25% income tax

Roastiness is coming out as it warms. Quite malty and a pleasant alcoholic warmth.

That's a lot of long sleeves, I guess you are planning on a lot of early morning outings. It's going to be in the 80's all week, I hope you packed the ball powder, it's gonna get sloppy. :)

Haha. Everybody's light jackets that we wore to the airport.
