Under normal carb pressure (~2.5 volumes) should the cork push out at all and fill up the cage? Or does the cage need to be pretty snug when I put it on?

thanks to everyone for the help! I feel like a noob all over again. :D

Maybe? The pressure just helps the cork get out. Might not move too much though with that pressure. Its not like champagne. One I opened new years was like a rocket

More corking questions. :D

Is it normal to have the top of the cork inverted like this after corking? Do i cage right away or wait for it to pop back up? (obviously is pushed in too far, still working on that part)

Has anyone had corks break if half when trying to pull them out?

That will be a pain to remove, but just cage it - won't cause any harm (and might not budge anyway.) I think I've had one break when I removed it - and I just used a corkscrew to get it out (space reserved for @WesleyS comment) .

Who told you weren't still a noob? Did you get a certificate telling you? ;)

More water, even though I work from home.

Dang! That was my whole intention with this. I want Saint Somewhere type action where people are scared when they open my bottles. ;)

I've had corks like that on fairly highly carbed saison and they did not push the cork out at all.

I don't even know where to begin with all this cork talk. So, I won't. :p

Coke, water, work. Yay for Monday.

A little pre-dinner deliciousness!

Longest Monday I've had in a while. I would kill for some canned air to huff, or a shoe box full of blow to help me get through the last 45 minutes.

Heard that... I just zoned out for an hour only to realize it was actually about a minute and a half. Just trying to decide what/where to drink tonight and how soon I can make it happen. ~15 min.

I leave for vacation on Saturday morning, and I have to be honest here, I'm already checked out. Its going to be a long week lol

Oh, I no longer feel like I can sympathize with that situation. My boss leaves next month for his yearly vacation and he checked out last week.

Gad I hate Monday... if it wasn't for my martial arts training on Monday night, I think I'd just stay home and drink all day.

This sums up my day today:

I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it.
