From the can, delicious!

How do you folks clean a blow off tube? I feel like there has to be an easier way I'm not thinking of.

having my Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. and for the sake of discussion, does anyone here believe that social behavior is primarily determined by group mentality or do you feel it's solely on an individual basis?

Both. When I was young it was the former because I had no idea who I was as I've gotten older it's more the latter.

it can be argued that for the majority of the population, they are "herded" by social stature until it becomes second nature. the need to fit in seems to be a force that strips away personal identity in adolescence.

I think my homelife as a kid had more impact on my behavior in social situations than anything else. I grew up with not much of anything though so I suppose the desire to increase my social stature probably had an impact. We all have an innate need to belong and be accepted by others. It's probably normal that all of that is less important to me as I age.

I agree with what I boiled the sociology class I took in college down to. Basically it was that Society makes you what you are and you as a group make society what it is. Sounds simplistic but it got me an A.

It is very true though. People are herd animals pretending to be the dominant predator. Unfortunately society tells us how to behave and we tend to listen. Worse yet, society has found a way to influence our rebelling against society and as a result you get groups like the hipsters and goths and emos and all that where the rebellion against society has actually been directed towards something predictable.

I weep about society as a whole. In the land of reality TV and microwave dinners, the homebrewer is king.

Thankfully, those of us with a good homelife as kids can be taught to think for ourselves. Accept an Amway "business opportunity" or listen to sales people objectively sometime and realize how designed a lot of daily life is towards manipulating you into doing things a certain way. It is shocking.

Haha I had to quote you, that is great.

Thank you. Bourbon and Beer on an empty stomach make me a touch philosophical. And so far it has been a finger of bourbon, 2 oktoberfests, and a rise up stout. I think I am going to switch back to bourbon and see if the SWS(ometimes)MBO decides to come over to keep me company.

Taking it easy tonight. Getting up early and driving most of the way to Nashville tomorrow, finishing the drive Friday morning. Any recommendations on bars and/or breweries I should hit while I am in Nashville?

Blackstone. But just go into the bars downtown and have fun there instead.

It's a combination of how you are "wired" plus your upbringing and unfortunately a healthy dose of group-think influences more and more as you age.

Craft Brewed - 2502 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37204
I love this place. Maybe 20 taps that rotate frequently enough that a three hour trip might give you 30 options. Also an amazing selection of carry out bottles. The back is a small homebrew shop.

Rebel Brewer - 105 Space Park N, Goodlettsville, TN
A small HBS, but... When I was there this spring I picked up 50 pound bags of two row for $35.00. I've been asking my boss to send me back ever since I finished that haul off.

The biggest and best advertised brewery is YAZOO, I bought a couple of their beers and wasn't at all impressed. Most of the local beer I got down there wasn't that great but the homebrew scene blew my area out of the water.

Thinking about a second pour.

Both.
Why?
It's great. Almost gave-in and had one earlier. Was so close but didn't pull the trigger.

Stop being a *****. I made a half pitcher. Clearly I don't believe it is only Wednesday.

Apfelwein. Haven't been drinking much in the last 2 weeks because of the new job.

Down 8 lbs, no joke.
