Hoping this will calm my nerves. I was just weighing out grains for tomorrows brew and realized I was a pound short of roasted barley. I was just in the car heading to my closest LHBS, an hour away, but decided I should call to make sure they had it in stock. THEY ARE CLOSED AND THEY OPEN AT 11AM EVERYDAY! Normally it wouldnt be a big deal but I absolutely have to brew tomorrow for a surprised party in October. Now my only hope is someone in the local HB club can sell me a pound.

/rant. Not that anyone cares. At least I have hops to drink

Substitution? Scale down the recipe? Roast some other grain you already have on hand?

Drinking a manhattan before going out for my wife's birthday. Dinner last night was a success.

She's not cooperating for the surprise party tomorrow tho. My co-conspirator is having difficulty getting her to agree to our plan, haha.
