Had my first KBS tonight at a local restaurant that finally got a keg in, I missed on buying the 4 packs this year, never had it before and while good and bourbon heavy the hype definitely is bigger than the beer. Now home in the garage with a stogie I'm drinking a Dark Horse Plead the 5th RIS and it is just as good personally, in fact I really like Founders Imperial Stout too and both are readily available as opposed to the KBS. Glad I got to try it but it didn't blow me away. JMHO.

Is it possible that the smaller jar was spicier than the bigger one? The bigger one definitely doesn't have the kick the smaller jar had. Either way, outstanding just not as spicy as the other.

At lunch planning what to do in San Fran when i go at the end of November. A lot of time to find all the goodies to do
I'm going to just assume you've already booked a tour to Santa Rosa already.
Muir Woods is a great place to go hiking.
You eating that salsa with a spoon? Not that there is anything wrong with eating salsa like a fruit salad. Looks delicious too.

I have a technical question for those of you with yeast washing experience:
Wyeast says that slurry that is 40-60% solids has approx 1.2bn cells per mL. So, if I need 237bn cells, divided by 1.2, comes out to approximately 200mL.
Is that 200mL of solids, or 200mL of yeast/spent wort?
200mL of solid yeast sounds like way too much, so I'm assuming I need about 100mL of slurry (based on 40-60% solids)
