I plugged it in for a 5 gallon batch & hit like 1.110. hahaha! raised volume to 7 gallon & hit 1.079. I've been hitting 85% since I got the Barley Crusher from NB. I'll have to brew this one soon!:mug: thanks for sharing!

For sure...let me know what you think. Just a warning...I was going through a huge tropical fruit/low bitterness kick when I did this beer. It has very little bitterness to it and comes off pretty sweet. I thought I wanted it that way to showcase the tropical fruit notes, but now I wish I would have thrown in some more bittering hops to help balance out the fruit juice flavors.

Orval Trappist Ale. Excellent beer.

Well ok I'm obviously not drinking all this right now. But a friend of mine had his birthday last night so a few of us got together to drink beer and play poker, no poker got played.

Prairie Rugby, for now. Getting ready to bottle a batch of sour bitter later tonight (it dropped to 1.004 after the bret was through). I have a good feeling about this one...

Well, we did have a good time today on our day trip to Erie. Got some decent beers at the beer store and spent way too much money.

Unfortunately, the day took an ugly turn when we returned home. We found one of our cats dead. In my six year old's bedroom. She was nursing her kittens when she died. This fooking blows. Real bad.

I need this about now.

Sorry, man. That sucks.

Staying in Chesapeake VA for the night and found a theater that serves beer - like I'm still at home (except they have beer I haven't had before)

Norfolk Canyon PA ... not bad but nothing to write home about. Things will get better when we get to Corolla tomorrow. Starting with the three growlers of Tired Hands I picked up this morning! :mug:

What do you think? I've heard mixed reviews. Maybe I should just go pop my bottle open and find out for myself.

Stone has done much better stuff. It's mediocre in my opinion.

Sorry dude

I need to get my hands on some crooked stave. I miss it greatly

A friend has a cellar reserve membership. I've got a couple bottles from when he didn't have the cash to max out allocations, but mostly I just get to drink his. :D

Drinking some more water before bed. The 4oz snifter might be my new favorite thing. I drank for about 8 hrs today and had a hint of a buzz somewhere in the middle, but never got close to drunk.

:( Sounds like a rough deal all the way around.

Magic hat elder Betty. It's a decent elder berry beer. I call drinking it research. I planted elderberry trees this year. Looking forward to making my own.

Just drank a Hoptimum by Sierra Nevada . Really nice hop flavor . I am going to buy some more of that for sure .
Now drinking a Mendoncino Barley Wine Ale . Pretty dang good . Was expecting the bitter aftertaste since it had such a strong taste but it has no bitter . Interesting . Has a hint of a wine flavor . Not sure if this is the same thing some of you brew as a barley wine but it is different than most beers . Definitely not a hot day beer but it is good and 11.0 % ABV , NICE . I must figure out how to make my blondes and browns 11 % without thinning and drying them out too much .

Oh , Oak Arrogant Bastard is coming here on Tuesday . After enjoying a Arrogant bastard the other day i am looking forward to the Oak at Robs World of beers
