My first HB is in the fermenter right now, So tonight I bought a six pack of something I keep going back to regularly - New Glarus Moon Man No Coast Pale Ale, went right to the drive-up liquor store to get it too, Gotta love Wisconsin!!

On to a my first Velvet Merlin. Tastes alot like my mutigrain extra-stout.Except for mine overcarbed with maple syrup. Think bout doin a side by side I have a few in the fridge yet. I think I oaked it too is what this really is what I first noticed about this beer.

I'm a big fan of their Velvet Rooster. and I'm really digging this Golden Strong. it reminds me of one I brewed about 5 years ago. drank it all before it was a month in the bottle. the dangers of taste testing...

You needs to try the Oasis.:mug:

Having my Extra-stout,its better than a velvet merlin. Which happens to be the only Firestone I thought was very good but not great like the rest. I think this stout I made would make a non stout drinker into one.Its like mocha cookies. I made it to the fridge before too much overcarb so could have some maple sweetness yet, which really is what I like about it. Think its my last one, maybe have one yet still.

Cool glad ur enjoying the golden strong its 11% so be careful ... i honestly wasn't super happy when i first tried it. something about that 1388 wyeast smell.. will have to try another soon.

Wow my maibock dropped below where i had planned 1.070 down to 1.011 now.. yeast from a local brewery.. fermented in 13 days at 48-52...

I still have a 2nd bottle of that, but I'm going to sit on it fora few more months (I hope!). :mug:

I wish I had a couple more to age. I sat on my 11-11-11 for a year before drinking it and was definitely pleased when I opened it.

1388 is one of my favorite strains. it's what I used in my Horehound Strong.

PSA - the ignore member function is a wonderful thing. Look at me not flaming idiots and getting a timeout.

TarHeel Stout (get it ?, black like tar, and made in NC) ;)
I emptied the keg yesterday into a growler ...I'll miss this when it's gone.

...but we'll make more. ;)

PS: cant believe all the store-bought beer in this thread ...brew some beer y'all!

hey! I'm an idiot!

You and me both. But we're the fun kind of idiots, not the disagree with people out of spite kind. I made the mistake of disagreeing about something with a FIFO and now if I say the sky is blue, he'll say it's purple. Is suggest trading beer, but I don't want to waste mine to find out just how bad his is.
