Nah, when I post booch it’s only a health tonic. Keep those gut bugs in line and a dose of fat burners. LOL, I wish that actually worked better.

Out back with one of the few last bottles of Skibsol (Danish ship beer). Had a good run with this one, will brew again.

Well the last Maximus I drank here was in February of 2024. Before that back in 2023 I was remarking that the Green-Orange combo made me think of Sierra Nevada Atomic Torpedo! Well, obviously the marketing team at Lagunitas check in here regularly! Check out the new Green and Gold theme – they abandoned the Orange! Obviously, the Gold is more suited to a Greco-Roman Laurel-wreath wearing Dog statue and the name Maximus!
Maximus is a by-the-book, easy to drink West Coast IPA. At 9% ABV it meets the Beermeister32 Frat and Dormie Chug Party standards well by hiding that 9% beautifully! That’s right, there’s a ton of booze in these cans, drink four of ‘em and they’ll be wheeling you down the street in a wheelbarrow and dumping you off on the neighbor’s lawn to sleep it off!
Maximus is also a thing of beauty – Check out the great head and clarity. Good lacing too, not that it matters much when you’re slugging them down in rapid succession! The perfect beer for arriving to the party late when you “gotta lot of catching up to do!” Chug!!!!

Local ipa night cap.. its early but I'm beat. Oh, hey, I kegged 3 cornies of neipa today.. excited for this batch.

HB Imperial Stout, 11%, 55 ibu, bottled early January this year. Tastes amazing, I think the key on this (see BCBS clone in Recipes section) was to keep the black malt down to 1% of the grist. Still seems a little "hot", alcohol wise, but only on the first couple of sips.
Then an Old Fashion at home not pictured.
Finished the repair of a section of our wood privacy fence this morning, went out for birria tacos, then back to put away tools and clean up.
Out back now with a rum breezer. Dark rum, Domaine de Canton, OJ, and a splash of lime juice. Made a big one, because why not?

Firestone Walker’s 2018 Molé Merkin, a limited-edition, barrel-aged stout featuring a blend of flavors inspired by Mexican mole. It's a variant of their popular Velvet Merkin. This one’s aged in brandy barrels and infused with cocoa nibs, cinnamon, and dried Puya chili peppers.
