You both could skip the adjuncts (rice and/or corn), add a bit of character malt (Munich, and/or Maris Otter), no sugar, and call it a Maibock... which is basically my recipe upcoming, just a bit more than 7.2% at 8.1...

That sounds great to me, Max. I initially paused when I read "a touch of crystal," but you're absolutely right about that. If memory serves, I think Olde English and St. Ives do have a touch of C40. There's clearly something in there that makes them gold.

This is my take on an undiluted high gravity brewing beer. Note the date, this was very early in the PP Project, so ignore everything except the grist--it's all wrong and will make terrible beer. I want to brew that grist, though. I'm sure it'll be amazing.

The grist does look decent. You're right about the rest. It won't be a malt liquor anyway at 43ibu, and the FG is high. Not what you intended, of course. Designed for diluting into a lawnmower beer.

That concept might be good for brewers with limited capacity. Could brew a small batch and dilute down.

I’ve been trying to only drink on the weekends (Friday - Sunday) so I’ve been offline mainly during the week. But I enjoyed these gems this weekend. Last night I had to open the bottle of Teeling from my friend and coworker from Dublin Ireland. He brought this over for me earlier this month. Last night seemed appropriate as my daughter’s basketball team won their first tournament this season (I’m their head coach). It was great to see all the joy on their faces!

I love coffee. I love stout. For some reason, never the twain shall meet for me. Too many are unbalanced, the coffee taking over the beer.

I bought this, not noticing the "with coffee" line. I've had a few so far the past week or so. I like it. A lot. Just enough coffee to compliment the roast.

Would buy again.

On my way to Connecticut for work and had to stop at Equilibrium for dinner. Half off smoked wings too. From left to right on the four:
Orchard Fusion
EPSILON CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW|
MÖBIUS MAPLE VANILLA
BARREL AGED MAILLARD REACTION|
Sorry for the caps just a copy and paste format thing.
Followed by a taster of Tomorrow after the wings.

Every time I drink this, I say to myself, WOW! Great Stout! Samuel Smith, maker of their Celebrated Oatmeal Stout at the old Tadcaster brewery, since 1758!

Yes, this is the final beer from the Samuel Smith Gift box, available at fine bottle shops throughout California and throughout the good ‘ol US. I have to say, this box really was a great deal, especially considering the size of these 550 ml bottles and great Samuel Smith glass. It is fun pouring this too, this glass really is designed for these types of beers. Fills right up to the mark, head is contained and focused, just really a well-thought out package, I am impressed.

As a Stout, this is a delicious Oatmeal Stout and has all the Samuel Smith characteristics – nice mouthfeel from the oat additions and the characteristic slightly fruity undertones from the open fermentation process in their famous “Yorkshire Squares”. Nice head, great lacing, what more do you need in an English Stout? Cheers!

Is the scooter due to the achilles? What did they find out about it? Ruptured or strained?
I don't think it's ruptured. Did the Thompson Test and both feet react the same. Going to the specialist tomorrow. Hopefully just need therapy.

OT..

Boy this is the way to liven up a Zwickel Beer! Back during the Austrian/Czech/Swiss beer drinking binge, I had to buy an entire 6-pack of Rugenbräu just to find something from Switzerland. Attention Swiss brewers, send us more beer!

Since that time I have a number of bottles of Zwickelbier peacefully lagering and clearing in the expansive and temperature-controlled Beermeister32 Bierhoard. Over those months, they have REALLY clarified. While this was a decent beer, it wasn’t one of my favorite picks. What better way to liven things up than making it a blender out of it with Alesmith Anvil Pilsner!

We have a 4.8% ABV mixed with a 4.9% ABV, so no big difference there. Great flavor though, clarity restored, taste improved, better carbonation – all in all a much finer, much tastier brew! Plus there’s 2 beers worth! Keepin’ it real…. Prost!

Carb check on the Panther Piss Bum Strength that I kegged on Sunday. At thirteen days old, it still has some more clearing to do. The Barke Pils is screaming right down the middle on this one and it has that wonderful touch of sulfur that you get on a young lager, I really love that light hint of sulfur--it puts a huge smile on my face. I wish I could figure out how to get it to stick around. This will be a pleasant enough beer and it might even encourage me to put my big boy pants on, quit being a weenie, and brew some beers that can't be mistaken for a 7gal starter.
