Dad brought this back for me from obx. Decent.
Taste of mead started on 10/20/2020, 13.8% abv. Pretty good.

Recently got into second keg of batch #198 brewed on 2/18 of this year.
10 gallon batch;
20# Weyerman Bohemian Czech pils
Hops;
1st wort, 1 oz Spatz,
halfway though 90 min boil, 1 oz Tettanger.
S-189 yeast fermented at 53F, d rested, spund carbonated, lagered at about 31F.

Alright, alright, the word is out. The guy likes drinking his beer in period-correct barware. In this case, it’s my late 1800’s Hacker-Bräu Maßkrug!
What better brew than Hacker’s current Münchner Gold, brewed in the World’s Beer Mecca, Munich, Bavaria. I thought I'd pour off an ounce to show you the color.... Wow, great lager!
Münchner Gold is a malty rendition of Southern German beer – one step heavier than a Helles, but I’d say not fully to a Märzen – sort of on the order of Paulaner’s current Festbier. Along those lines. 5.5% ABV, terrific, filling and thirst quenching all at the same time - I think this stuff is dinner tonight!
I’ve been called a dinosaur before, if they see me with my mug, it’s confirmed! Prost!

Finished cleaning up from brew day, dinner and a quick shopping trip. Now it’s whisky Wednesday.
I’ve been itching to taste this since it came into the house. Tasty, but I was expecting some smoothness… you can’t always get what you want. Well, perhaps if one is willing to pay for it.

Yesterday while putting away the Pilsner starter for a future Brewday.
And later while putting together dinner.
HB CCC Blonde after doing a little (very little) yard work on a 100° day at the city house.
TGIF. Testing a beer swap to see if as good as draft. It is. Hopefully high school lifeguard won't bust me for bringing in beer.

How the heck do you get a 6-pack of 500ml/16.9 ounce cans into California, European “Dutch Style” Pilsener (whatever that is,) shipped in from Germany, and sell it retail for $6.99 US Greenbacks? I’m befuddled.
Luckily, I’m also well-hydrated at that price! Seek this one out – what a beer drinker’s value, I am impressed. I wish I could brew it this cheap!
Actually, that reminds me of a funny story my Dad used to tell about guys hunting because it was “cheaper” than buying meat retail. Ya Right! Really just a way to justify the hunt - I got the list – wow, lots of stuff there, equipment, time away, fuel. I think Venison ended up costing like around $30 a pound by the time all costs are in. Yeah, value, right!
Well, I think those brewing to save bucks may have it right the first Beer Ball they buy, but after all that stainless steel, time and equipment, our crafted beer frequently costs more. Well, Ok, I know some of you might disagree, but hey, I don’t think I could touch $6.99 for a sixer of these tasty Pilensers - quite a bargain! Prost.
