Nice WCIPA to get a break from the haze craze

Do what they've been doing for centuries in the southwest- light a fire and get a good bed of coals. Then spread them out and throw the pears (tunas) on top to singe the needles off. Works great and makes them easy to peel as well.I didn’t know the answer to that until I googled it. Yes, apparently it is a thing. Michelob has a lime/prickly pear beer. The pads and fruit are quite tasty according to the interwebs. I don’t have much desire to harvest any however. I’ve had plenty of the needles in my knees, hands and back side while hunting and other outdoor activities in the pastures of my area.
Been trying to find some of that lately. Apparently not as popular as it once was.I'm just a cream ale guy.View attachment 734134
So its gotten to where Hefe is clearer than most of the pale ales now.Fahr Hefeweizen in my classiest beer cup ever! C'mon Friday, it's supposed to drop 10 degrees to +27ºC (80F)..might have to wear a sweater!

I'd love to brew a Genny Cream clone.Good old Genny Crean Ale. Depending where you live, it's still around.
I live in PA, so it should be around. Just none of my local places have it.I'd love to brew a Genny Cream clone.
I used to live in upstate NY and it was obviously everywhere, and was my beer of choice while in college. I make it a point to drink some whenever I go back home. Was your beer close to Genny?I live in PA, so it should be around. Just none of my local places have it.
I just brewed a Cream Ale recipe. 1.052, 70% 6-row, 30% flaked corn. Hopped with Cluster, Tettnang and Saaz to about 20 IBU. Some of the clearest, most beautiful wort out of the mash tun I’ve ever seen.
2 days in primary so far. Airlock smells great.I used to live in upstate NY and it was obviously everywhere, and was my beer of choice while in college. I make it a point to drink some whenever I go back home. Was your beer close to Genny?

Now my Vienna lager outside before I try and pretend to care about work for 2 more hours. Thank god the office is basically closed and all I have to do is make sure no fires consume the business.
That's tomorrow's job. Today is making sure all the leaves that collected the last week make it into the nowhere (the place between my pool and the municipal land behind the pool). Gonna be hitting mid 90s this weekend. Gotta be ready! You need to ensure the pool is at the proper temperature and properly chlorinated.... personally!
I have a Dock Street pint glass. Along with an Independence Brewing, Poor Henry’s, a Valley Forge Brewing Company and a John Harvard’s. All no longer around.Another hazy IPA in my oldest pint glass. Dock Street Brewing in Philly from 1994. Has survived about 6 moves.
