I’m really thankful for days like this. What say you should I be thankful for? It’s the LAST HEFE-WEIZEN DAY of this series of beers, that’s what. YIPPEEEE!

Schneider’s Weiss is a hearty Bavarian 5.4% ABV Hefe-Weizen with all the typical flavor as the rest of the pack. That spicy clove phenol taste is prevalent. Head is much more restrained compared to the others which generally pour with about 1-2 fingers of head. Not sure on this color either, it’s not a dark Hefe-weizen of any sort, and it doesn’t taste old or damaged, so maybe the color is the color. I did notice on the label this is open-fermented using the original recipe from their founding in 1872. The open fermentation could explain some of the darkening of this beer compared to the other Hefe-Weizens me figgur.

I find I like all these Hefe-Weizens a lot more down about halfway through the pint, and Schneider Weiss is the same – gets MUCH better the farther down you drink!

As Hefe-Weizens go, I give Schneider Weiss high marks, even though it’s not really my favorite style. It’s a refreshing brew and you really don’t notice those phenols when you are drinking a lot of this in big mouthfuls, beer in each cheek. Absolutely fantastic by the end of the glass. Prost!

I can’t think of a better way to unwind after all that Hefe-Weizen and blow all the 4-vinyl guaiacol out of my system than this. How about a Cascadian Dark Ale blender? Yeah!! Notice I’ve dumped the retarded “Black IPA” misnomer from my writings. May it lay with the spent grains and trub in the trash bin of history. Dumper!

I just love Stone’s rendition of a Cascadian Dark Ale. CDA’s are a Northwest creation and fit right along with smoked salmon, razor clams, Grunge Rock, venison, Evergreens, geoducks, the Space Needle, and the other half of tech on the West Coast. A lot of freakzoids too, that’s another story. I challenge you not to look up geoduck! Ha!

Blending this back 50/50 with my favorite mixer - Budweiser Zero - yields up plenty to gulp – at a very reasonable 4.35% ABV – Still a CDA and VERY drinkable! Chug!

I'm into the funky melon profile. This had a really good sweet nonpithy orange flavor that tweaked back and forth with the funky melon. It was interesting but I really liked the true orange that would come and go. Maybe the pine is what made it a fight with melon and orange. Could be refined
