And a Utica Club in between these beers as I pack things up for the coming winter season. šŸ˜ž

9-3 viggen, it's super clean and low miles, got lucky with this one.. cheers!
Cool! One of the best ( and weirdest ) SAAB cars ever made, just before the 'Saabaru'. Very rare car.

Thanks for the well-wishes too. Cheers! :mug:

Certainly... and my buddy had a saabaru, not many out there now.. we now have 3 viggens, a lightening blue 3 door, a silver 5 door which is worked and a total sleeper but it's a beast, and now the black one, which is my dad's and a really clean car. I've had a few 900s and clearly I have saab problem, but whatever haha..
OT, fathead... cheers!

I see a few Aero 9-5 cars up here, great auto for the Sunshine/Lake Louise snowsports mountain run. Only one place in town had a Saab logo out front, now sadly gone. Old school 9.5 cars were pretty cool as well. Cheers!

I worked for a saab dealer about 20 years ago, lots of neat cars and a fun quirkyness to them. 9-5 Aero was always a pleasure to drive.

Kloster Andechs is another of those great and historic Bavarian Monastery breweries. Records of the Andechs Monastery Holy relics go back to about 955, placing them high on Heilege Berg (Holy Mountain) to keep them away from the beer-starved Barbarians! The Andechs Abbey (and for our interests the brewery) was established there in 1455 and today it is still the brewery of the Andechs Monastery supporting their work and causes.

I guess that means the Monks get to drink all the good stuff! Takes the edge off of not dating women!

These two beers are examples their Dopplebock Dunkel, or Dark Double Bock to us Yank peasants. At 7.1% ABV, drinking this MaƟkrug of equally heavy brew is a solid commitment to the cause! I volunteer!

SUPER MALTY! If you donā€™t like heavy, malty, boozy serious brews, go wimp out elsewhere. Prost!

Dang! Nice car. I just tried to off load my old 9-3 rims to my bimmer mechanic. It was a hell no response.

There's a dealer close by that always had some sweet one offs. I had a normal 9-3 and a one off 9-5 sport aero conv from late 90's. It had extra hp. I didn't like the fwd but it had gitty up. The best part was it was easily reprogrammed with a Bluetooth ecu. I stuck a CAI and modded the ECU to the point of needing stiffer suspension.

I ran into the musician J Geils at my fav packy the town over. He pulls up in an early 60's unrestored Ferrari. Trying not to gawk he walks over and is wtf is that!? He started probing all over. I'm like I'll let you test drive it if I can drive yours.

He died years ago. His auction of the estate was insane. A lot of musical ephemera and bikes but basically had a huge Ferrari collection and garage

J. Geils Band has long been one of my favorites. Big during my high school and college days. Bloodshot is a spectacular album, btw. Still listen to them a lot, never gets old. Cool that you got to run into Geils.

Not "now", yesterday evening, but it was our monthly homebrew club and we had a great selection.

Galaxy/Mosaic hazy IPA
Brut IPA (mine)
Belgian Amber ale (mine)
Blackberry Porter
Olicana/Red-X SMaSH
Belgian Quad from Feb 2023

I also brought a 330ml sample from my bretted solera keg which despite not being properly carbonated tasted great.

Pretty sure we met up at Thin Man on Elmwood and had bacon nubs @pshankstar, man that's a nice memory.

Yesterday was the 1 087SG doppelbock megabrew at Sage. And today did Goose Ridge winery with a friend after a nice Chimay and another sour at lunch from Dwinell.

After quite a bit of a hiatus I'm back once more. I really should remain more active in the future, need to make a mental note of that.
Some weekend beers (there were more, but the lighting conditions didn't allow for taking decent pictures).

A dry stout from a local craft brewery. All in all a decent beer, a bit too dry for my personal taste and it did feel a tad on the watery side.

One of the many HB IPAs I've consumed during the weekend.

Mead the elixir of the Gods? Me thinketh not! It has to be Bavarian Pilsnerā€¦. Er, I mean Austrian Pilsner! Same diffā€¦.! Made in Berkeley, what gives???

Iā€™ve drank a few Trumer Pilsners here before. IMHO, this is the top Pilsner produced in the US, 18 medals canā€™t be wrong, eh? I had the opportunity to visit Trumer at their Berkeley location with my beer-drinking progeny. Hey, the family that drinks together, stays together!

This shop is truly Best in Class, making a variety of South German/Austrian beer styles, mostly lagers.

Next best thing to getting this 4.9% ABV Pils in a 19.2 ounce stovepipe is having a 21 ounce glass to put it all in! Great thing about a big glass is you donā€™t have to waste valuable drinking time slowly sipping out of the aluminum can pop-top opening. You can dump in a full mouthful, like Pronto! Yeah Baby! Prost!
