Service is out again. After two hours getting sent up the chain, i cancelled comcast. They've had a month to get service restored and i am out of patience.

I cannot get FiOS and Verizon DSL, while available, is less than half the speed for the same cost, and a last resort.

I need other ideas. Any satellite or 3g/4g provider seems to be prohibitively expensive, and i don't know of any alternative wired option other than Earthlink which is as much as Verizon for even less speed.

They all suck. Make sure if you go DSL that you aren't at the end of the wire like I am. You will end up with even shoddier service than you are now used to. I am kinda glad I am in FIOS range, but really hope Google decides to get their fiber out here to compete. Then again I wish we could get internets at the cost per MB like China does.

Second Hi Nelson Saison of the night. Bed soon. Took a day off to have my home heat system looked at and work on my kitchen floor. Good news is everything is good with the heat and ac system aside from it being > 20 years old. Bad news is that it will probably cost me 15K+ to get a gas hookup and gas heat installed when I modernize my home heat.
