Torn between building a keezer or just keeping it simple by picking up a cheap refrigerator for beer and picnic tap.
Whichever choice, needs to happen soon. Any thoughts?

One more coffee..

I built a simple keezer and I really like it. My biggest complaint is lifting full kegs to load it is a pita. If I had to do it again, I'd probably buy a small fridge and drill taps in the door. I think that is probably easier. I would skip picnic taps. They suck.

My experience with picnic taps are that they leak... Then you'd have to clean the inside of the fridge out. If you have a lot of traffic drinking from there it could get messy.

Drinking water. Pool is clear, and waiting for the chlorine levels to come down. Then it's swimming time.

Congrats @disturbdchemist! That's a great accomplishment.

I have a picnic tap and only issue I had was the first time I used it. Though I can see that a bunch of people helping themselves could end up messy. Thanks guys.

Coffee. Apparently everyone forgets how to drive when it rains in CA. 1:41 min to drive 20 miles on the 405. Smh

Only in Southern California, Northern is opposite they continue driving like its dry, then wonder why they spun out hitting both the center divide and guard rail.

OT coffeeeee

How many taps are you planning? I'll agree on the through the door setup with a small fridge for a starting setup. It makes swapping out kegs easy. Just make sure it's tall enough to fit your keg(s).

Yeah I'm not worried about moving and lifting kegs. I think 1-2 taps is fine, though if I had a keezer I'd likely go 3-4.

I like the full sized fridges with taps through the door. You can fit 3-4 kegs usually and still have room for bottles and can cold crash in there too if you only have 2-3 kegs in there.

The only issue I have with a fridge is when the keg in the rear kicks you need to move the one in the front storing up sediment.
Coffee

Totally a problem. But I've learned to put the beers I drink less frequently in the back of the fridge and keep the beers I do go through faster up front.

God. I need a beer.

Water.

Can't decide if I want to fly to Denver for GABF or stay home and spend some time with the kids.

I have spent way too much on beer this year so I know Denver would put me in the doghouse.

I'll post it soon. If i remember.

Coffee. 3 more days of work for me this week then new orleans

You would be well advised to be at the Avenue Friday afternoon. I won't make it Friday, unfortunately, but there's something that is relevant to your interests being tapped at 3pm (there are other good things being tapped around noon or 1-ish as well).

You forgot to tell him to make sure his beard is hipster enough for the Ave. And to bring beads, just in case. :D

Id vote kids, myself. Dunno when I became this sentimental, but I do rarely miss the olden days when life was simpler, drunker and with less responsibility.

I plan to be there friday and saturday. I want Fou Foune too bad to miss it as well as everything on the tap list. I only have had very few on the list so I want to get as much as i can :rockin:. Is it extremely crowed or typical busy night at a bar?

Go to GABF. If I had the $ I'd be there... even took a few days off next week to use up some vacation time. Damn, I should have an emergency credit card for these kinds of situations. ..

Check out freecycle, craigs list, etc and whichever you find used, in better shape, and cheap then go for that. You will always be able to find a use for a spare fridge or chest freezer if you decide to go the other route later. I am up to 4 fridges and 2 chest freezers myself.

GABF itself is fun, but this year I'm looking forward to the special tappings and releases around town more than the main event.

I can finally tell SWMBO that I'm not the only one. We finally got rid of a few fridges and freezers I was hoarding. Still have a few around though.

In my defense, one is the upstairs food fridge (for roommates/tenants) and one is downstairs food fridge. The rest though are a mix of Fermentation Chamber, Beer Fridge, and Keezer.

I wish all of them could come with but her parents decided to come see us instead of meeting in Denver.

Depends on what the wifey says

She will tell me to go because she is a saint.

That's really why I like coming down that week. But the fest is just such an experience. Are you volunteering this year?

FTFY

I attend GABF around once every 3-4 years. Each time I say it's my last. I can't stand crowds. Attending the Sat afternoon event is much better than either Fri or Sat night. I need to try to score tickets to the Wed night event.

still drinking water in the office...

Zwanze Day isn't too bad with the changes from last year. Polly only lets in enough people for the tickets and groups. Friday may get a little crowded, so you'll want to be there to get upstairs as soon as the balcony bar opens to get your pick of spots. Year before last for Zwanze was brutal since they didn't limit entry to the bar for the event. Now they do wristbands, so only the number of people that can get pours get in. So, you should plan to be there early Saturday.

More water.

actually isn't too bad.

That's true; it's a cluster. I was hating the crowds and I felt like Saturday afternoon really wasn't any better than the other sessions. I have volunteered once so far and I liked it. More laid back, if you can imagine. I just don't feel like I have to try every beer or beat the crowd to a special tapping. I'm there for free and I get to drink some beer with friends. It's a good time.

How early Saturday? I'm thinking around 8. They start taking names around 9ish. I'm planning to head over very early friday morning to hit steins and stay at avenue all day.
