Great, guess I have a timeout coming now...

Sit in the corner and not come out until I say so lol :D

Wait, I thought it was sit in the corner and drink a beer while you think about it. And if you are a repeat offender, you will have to emulate Remmy until you are smacked enough to get along.

or is this you?

Hey... so, what's everybody drinking now?

I'm drinking water, kind of boring.

Here's a picture.

Woah. I am drinking something similar. It is also a clear non-alcoholic liquid. Has no flavor or brand either, comes straight from a fountain. Wish it were beer.

Drinking water. Hey look at that I'm on topic.
I'm sincerely sorry for the debate/argument that followed my initial post last night about the dog attack. I'm done discussing it because I enjoy this thread and the company of those who participate in it too much to see it closed (again) by a mod for, of all things, a dog debate.
I appreciate all of you who expressed concern and well wishes for my family. Those of you who feel differently than I do or were offended by anything I said, I'm sorry, but, I value the safety of my family far more than the life of anything/anyone who wishes to do them harm or anyone's opinion or perception of me. And I hope you feel the same way for those you love.

Mountain Dew. Because win. But i hit the bottle shop again so there's that.

Also jack russel pug mix sounds ugly as hell. Then again pug anything mix.

I don't have a dog simply because I'm not allowed to where we live. But if when we move we're getting another dog.

Meanwhile two snotty cats is all i need.

My apologies as well. My post was meant to be comical, but was interpreted by some the wrong way. Glad your family is safe.

I do miss that Napoleon complex dog, for all her faults she was really cute. And it's called a Jug, but I didn't want to refer to my MIL's jugs...

Finally got the house situation back on track, looks like the bank account is about to get obliterated. Got two emails from local architects looking to steal me away from here though!

Lookin' good, I think.

Water and celery.

Great news! off topic question. What software would be good for 2D layout? I have been put in charge of the laser cutter and previously the students have been using MS Visio. I feel they'd be better off if they use a CAD type program.

Ideally free, these are broke college students. I have seen several choices, but I am not going to download each and test drive them. I figured someone who deals with CAD on a daily basis could offer some advice.

Well I'm sorry to say I do not have any experience with free programs. CAD is the best, in my opinion (go figure) but you're looking at a $4000 price tag for licensing. That being said...

After just a quick search, you might look into something like http://www.a9tech.com/. I can not vouch for how good it is or not, but the interface looks similar to AutoCAD which would be a nice start for students getting a feel for the industry. That A9CAD program also has the ability to save in .DWG and .DXF which is what we save our drawings in. It might be worth looking into.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Remmy any idea where I can get my hands on one of those ghandi bot glasses? I heard nebco is out

I've been looking for one that wasn't more than $25 for a long while. No dice for me man. I could have gotten one for $95 though a few months ago.

Water
Shower
Work.

Thanks, I am downloading now. We have a few CAD and SW licenses, but we share those with Mechanical Engineering and someone always has them checked out. I am just looking for something that every student can have access to at any time.

Are we talking college?

You might want to check out http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/all, as far as I know... the Autodesk products are free for students.

I used CAD/Revit/Inventor for free throughout college. Not sure their definition of 'student' if you're talking high school or something else.

Germans have long been producing very good software, often for free or not expensive. I am nearly fluent in German, are you?
