My Gose is the best
I do not believe I have ever had a gose.
Personally, I think they're horrid, but I may not have had a "good" one yet.
Think thick and salty liquid... in your mouth. If you meet a girl that loves them, she's a keeper.
Where you been?! How's the brewery coming?

thick? That shouldnt be the case. Sounds like you got one that may have been "sick" possibly? I didnt think that could happen with just lacto.

I've been lurking... Stepped away from the brewery. Sometimes a partnership sounds better in theory than it is in reality. I wish them success though if they ever manage to open. I know quite a few people and will find a better opportunity elsewhere. In the meantime I am going to brew a bunch of experiments I have been planning. Things are gonna get a little weird, just how Billy likes it.
I lol'd.
I think @finsfan missed it.
Edit: apparently a few others missed it?
But Gose is extremely thin.

Well, obviously I stand corrected and have not had a good example of the style.
I do live in a craft beer wasteland here, of course, I've had them all at craft beer festivals, so it could have been that I was slightly inebriated or there was something else going on.
hey @nukebrewer - when do you find out what flights you're judging? *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*
Last Saturday it didn't. I drank so much that hair of the dog felt like I was going to puke. Today it's just a headache and sleepiness. I just drank too much in a short time span. Carry that out over a full night and I would have been golden.I'm getting there. Though I do not drink like i did in college but if i over do it, all day headache but the hair of the dog works![]()
Yay! Good to see you around. You leave us far too often.Free day today! Hitting the hard Mt Dew to start
Guess I need to try the Westbrook version. Sounds like the top example
Speaking of gose, drew a sample of mine because I'm planning to bottle it this weekend. Westbrook ain't got nothin on me!View attachment 254360
Haha, I'll find out tomorrow morning about an hour after the planned start time.
I'm hoping I get to judge a style that's hard to mess up. It always sucks when you get a flight full of awful beer.

Tomorrow morning, eh? What happens tonight? The website lists the judging dates as both tonight and tomorrow morning.
Truth. Nothing worse than a full flight of bitters where the highest score is in the mid-20s. It's about flocc this isht o'clock. Have to go drop off dry hops to one of my Iron Brewer teammates and then it's finally beer:30.
Man, that must be tough but best get out while you can if its not right.
I want to shadow you for a week.Tell me about it! Ever try making 31lbs of dark candi sugar for a 5bbl batch of Dubbel? Good times as long as you aren't on clean up...
you can take it easy when you're Nizzled.Yo @remmy what does "hello'ing" one self entail?
Man, my damn head hurts. I really should take it easy.

What was your process and recipe?

No beechwood aging? Fail #easyway
Leaving early. Funk this. Beer soon.
So, apparently we get a Crooked Stave in CT. I've had both of these a few times before. Good to know the bottles are nice and dusty at the beer store in my small-ass town.

I've been seeing Crooked Stave in my shops for about the last month or so.
We have had it in ND since November, at $15 a bottle. :O
