A small sample of HB American lager - lots of rice in this one. Still better tasting than the self crowned king of beers. I liked my light AL better - no rice in that one.

Tapped my most recent hazy IIPA yesterday, hopped with Freestyle Peacherine, Freestyle Motueka, and citra t90 & cryo View attachment 883761

If you’re on instagram give me a follow, I’m trying to build it back up. @Bantam_brews
That looks really good. Any chance on getting the recipe?

I’m still in a smoky sort of mood, so what better time that to crack open another delicious Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier. This one is the uncommon “Lentbeer or Lentbier” otherwise known as a bigger beer for Monks to drink during the time of Lent. Think of it as a smoky beer and the day’s nutrition, all in one mug!

Lentbeer (Lentbier) is a 5.9% ABV brew. Apparently Monks drinking brew did not break their fast – loading up on a few of these really takes the edge off of fasting for the day! Pray for more!

Super drinkable with malt kilned over Beechwood, this is another one of the Rauchbiers that diminish the smoke taste on the palette the more you drink. I’m already to the bottom of this pint - I’m seeing fantastic lacing to go with the nice head – and barely even noticing the smoke by the end of the pint. Really goes to show how the senses can re-set themselves! Prost!

My buddy said he was stopping by with beer. This never , ever happens because he is cheap. He would risk his life for you, but wouldn't spend a penny to do it. I should have known. 🤣

I'm betting cheapest case on sale wherever he bought it. Actually it tastes better than I remembered. I haven't had this in years.

Both of those look delicious! Please report back after you try them!

Forgot to reply...

I've had both kinds of those Aldi skewers, though not in a sammich. They're quite good, though they're probably a ways off from the spiedie formula.

Back home last night after three weeks in Minnesota. Just went to the keezer for this beer only to find an empty 20# tank. Must be a leak somewhere because it wasn’t anywhere near empty when I left it. Luckily there was enough CO2 in the keg for a pour of some HB pale ale.

Planning to grill a couple rib eyes for dinner later. Hopefully the grill isn’t out of gas too, which would be quite concerning since it’s actually plumbed into nat gas.
