Had an 805 from FW last night while out with my wife.
Collab of Yazoo and Jester King. Barrel aged saison brewed with spelt, Pilsener and Saaz. A little barnyard, some tangerine, balanced and tasty.
HM dry hard cider that I bottled back in Dec 2023. Still tastes good after 14 months. Down to the last few in the fridge.

HB stout
I can’t think of a better way to unwind after all that Hefe-Weizen and blow all the 4-vinyl guaiacol out of my system than this. How about a Cascadian Dark Ale blender? Yeah!! Notice I’ve dumped the retarded “Black IPA” misnomer from my writings. May it lay with the spent grains and trub in the trash bin of history. Dumper!
I just love Stone’s rendition of a Cascadian Dark Ale. CDA’s are a Northwest creation and fit right along with smoked salmon, razor clams, Grunge Rock, venison, Evergreens, geoducks, the Space Needle, and the other half of tech on the West Coast. A lot of freakzoids too, that’s another story. I challenge you not to look up geoduck! Ha!
Blending this back 50/50 with my favorite mixer - Budweiser Zero - yields up plenty to gulp – at a very reasonable 4.35% ABV – Still a CDA and VERY drinkable! Chug!

First pour of my Pliny the Elder clone kit. Kegged last night and hit the carb at 30psi, good head but not many bubbles.
Ended at 9.5% abv.

Last bottle, split with the wife! We brought it home from a visit to Rothenburg, brewed in Fürstlich-Drehna castle brewery... very tasty when served nice and cold. I'm going to miss this one! Honey is prevalent, residual sweetness can be a tad much once it warms up.

That flavor profile took a hard turn at the end!
I'm into the funky melon profile. This had a really good sweet nonpithy orange flavor that tweaked back and forth with the funky melon. It was interesting but I really liked the true orange that would come and go. Maybe the pine is what made it a fight with melon and orange. Could be refined
HB Stout in a deceiving glass 
HB brown ale. 3 weeks in the bottle, carbing and taste pretty good.
Secret Santa porter from Somewhere In Particular, Columbus, Ohio. Nice and chocolatey, good body, a touch of sweet, 7.1%. Very good; thanks, Santa!

Anything on cask you have my attention. We have a pub here that used to do a cask festival every year. Stopped with covid in 2020 and hasn’t had it since. Wish we had it back.
They just tapped a keg of Pliney the younger at one of my local hang outs. Happy Friday to me!
That reminds me how Pinthouse used to do 5gal firkins with random ingredients on Tuesdays for $5/pint. Fun times.
