HB NEIPA, the keg is close to kicking. Starting to clear a bit but the head is nice. Why is it that when you want a keg to kick, you lift it and it weighs nothing, but it still keeps pouring ;-). Others are waiting!
Hb neipa, 11 foot tree is all we could find this year, usually aim for 13 or so but this will do..
A little taster of the current batch HB Raspberry Hard Lemonade. Just added 50 ounces of raspberries to the next batch. I’ll keg it in 5 days.

Well yesterday was Pearl Harbor Day. Maybe not the best day to have kicked off my Japanese beer review, eh? How the heck did I miss that one?! Oh well, never fear! Beer is an international link between like minds! Moving forward!
Sapporo Premium is a super solid Gold Lager. The super-heavy metal can mentions this is actually brewed in Vietnam. Anything to save a few bucks I suppose. Hey, as long as my Bud Zero is brewed in the Good ‘Ol USA and not out of country, I’m OK with it. Japan is an expensive place for darned near anything, probably beer brewing as well.
I think I’m actually liking this Sapporo better than yesterday’s Kirin Ichiban. Some head, decent lacing, this is really a clean drinking lager. Boy this is good! 4.9% ABV. It really is great canvassing a beer supply every once in a while to re-familiarize yourself with the many brews produced out there. Super clean and drinkable, high marks for Sapporo!

Some beers from the past weeked.
Had this unique and quite tasty Wine Porter at a local craft brewery taproom, not usually a fan of wine, but the aroma and taste mingled very nicely in this drink. A very good winter beer in my humble opinion.
An apricot, fruit Gose. My SO had one of these, very tart, refreshing and drinkable. Not something I'd normally enjoy during winter myself, but who am I to judge.
A Christmas ale. Well all I can say about this one is that it had a wonderful clarity and lovely colour. The taste however was far from my cup of tea. An overpowering aroma of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, with the clove and nutmeg duking it out for dominance on my taste buds. Kind of felt like the spirit of Christmas itself relieved itself in this beer. Would not recommend.
Not pictured are 5 or 6 O'Hara's Irish Stouts, lost the exact count somehow.

Loitering st SoCO Homebrew. Free beer
Finished brewing an ordinary bitter, indoors on the stovetop. Pitched S-04 in 6 gallons of wort. Gear cleaned and put away.

Sapporo Reserve is one fantastic Lager. The can says it all – “All Malt Beer.” Drinking a lot like a German Helles, this brew would go great with a plate full of Bratwurst and Spaetzle. Just don’t tell the Euro drinkers in the room what you’re up to - and hide that can! - and you’ll walk out in one piece!
Just like the Sapporo Premium from yesterday, this is a full but very easy drinking beer. A good 5% ABV, but a dry enough finish with these two that you can just chug and chug. I put this 650ml down in about 2 minutes while writing this, it goes down that easy. Again, great job Sapporo! Almost like a Festbier, you could chug 3 or 4 of these in a row and still be standing vertical for one more!
I really have to commend Sapporo, they’re batting 1000 in my book. I can hardly wait for the Sapporo Black I’m planning to crack open tomorrow!

I've somehow never heard of grape ales, might actually need to look into them at some point in the future.
