Irish Coffe while cleaning up the carnage

Dastardly Deceased Dude while watching Eagles - Giants. Forgot how awesome Voss is... taking me on a ride from mouth watering caramel malt flavor and aroma through some citrus and to a refreshingly bitter clean finish.

Northern Brewer all-grain rogue dead guy clone. Highly recommend this kit. This is one of the top 3 beers I have ever brewed. 90 minute BIAB mash, pitched @90F with Voss Kveik. 2 week fermentation, 1 week on dry hop then kegged. Definitely use a hop bag for the dry hop.
Reached its peak flavor after 2 weeks cold conditioning. Boss!

I've been there, too. You're a great brewer, so you were clearly covering your bases....it just seems to happen for no good reason. In my experience, for what that's worth, you strip down the poppet and never find a hint of what happened. Frankly, I think it's the out QD. Early last summer I had a keg that refused to take C02, all the other kegs were more than happy to take as much gas as I wanted to throw at them, but that one keg refused to budge at 60psi. I changed its QD and it was happy as could be. Now it's acting up again. Just one of those things, I guess.

It's funny; I blew the out QD with CO2, then I took off the out QD, opened it, cleaned it, nothing changed. Decided to just swap out the QD and picnic tap line and perfect pour. So I had some British IPA for breakfast and now I have to drink this keg fast because I opened it and it's going to oxidize fast now.

OUTSTANDING! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my cast iron! My SWMBO fought me on buying them for YEARS! "It's to heavy, they aren't non stick, they rust blah blah blah. I just decided to buy them for myself a few years ago and just told her "don't use em if you don't like them. They are for me" :) she has since tossed out almost all our old pans and only uses my, now OUR cast. She loves them "ALMOST" as much as I do..... :)

Cheers
Jay

Drank the first couple bottles on Christmas Eve with my in-laws, but didn't grab a pic. Had to open another bottle to finish out the weekend.

A HB English Barleywine brewed and bottled a year ago. 10% ABV. UK pale ale malt, amber, and medium crystal. Bittered to 50IBU with Challenger, finished with EKG. Fermented relatively cool with 1028.

After 12mo in the cellar, what was once syrupy and sweet is now smooth and velvety. Flavor and aroma remind me of With Pipe and Book.
