Water Profile?

Is the right place to talk about water or is there a forum or thread JUST for water? I'm curious learn about testing, filtering and building my water. Also what are the taste effects on beer from say tap water in the country out of a well and the effects from tap water in a big city. Thanks

I can partially answer your last question - tap water from the city has chlorine (and sometimes chloramine) in it which has to be removed either by boiling, careful filtration, or campden tablets. I use a combination of the latter two.
