I always here about glycol cooling, but why hardly ever water cooling for a tower? I know you need glycol if you are going below freezing, but it's not that cold in the kegerator.

It seems a small container of water, with a quiet aquarium pump, would work fine. Just turn the pump on when you are about to have a pint.

Why not just let the pump run continuously? It's an aquarium pump so it should be meant for continuous running.

A lot of systems use mostly water and a small amount of glycol. As mentioned above, you'll want a corrosion inhibitor if you're using water. I think most people figure why not use a little glycol as the corrosion inhibitor and get the added benefits of a lower freezing point and better heat transfer?
