Okay. So I called up the county and got some numbers on my local water.. And I have a question about calculating Ca and Mg. Here's what I have:
Calcium hardness ppm- 64
Sodium ppm- 13-18
Chloride ppm- 18.4 avg, range 13.31-24.1
Sulfate ppm- 98.08 avg, range 79.44-137.14
total alkalinity - 23ppm
Total hardness- 98ppm
As per Palmer, here's what I did to get Mg and Ca ppm...
Total hardness-calcium hardness= mg hardness
98-64= 34 magnesium hardness
Ca= ca hardness divided by 50 x 20
Ca=64/50x20=25.6
Mg=magnesium hardness divided by 50 x 12.1
Mg=34/50x12-1=8.228
Is this correct?? Trying to derive the values to enter into the ez water calculator spreadsheet
