EVERY video I have watched on washing and reusing yeast, has been beer videos. Does anyone do that with their wine yeast as well? My Pino Grigio is in secondary fermenation right now, and I'm going to rack it for the 3rd stage in about 3 days. I was just wondering if trying to wash that yeast for my next batch, or a batch or cider would be worth the time? It was a dry yeast packet I used, fyi.

Last time I bought wine yeast, it was about $1.00. How much is your time worth?

I agree it's $1 - $1.50 around my area. Was just asking :) Even being in that range, you could make 4 batches, then reuse some of them, so the $1 - $1.50 may end up saving $6 - $20 in the future.

If it was White Labs liquid wine yeast it would definitely be worth it, but not dry yeast.

I have to agree. I'm pretty cheap, but even I wouldn't do this. Alot of the wines I make are fruit wines and I age them for a year. The thought of putting all that effort into a wine and risking anything to save a buck doesn't appeal to me.
